Liberia’s own Dewitt vonBallmoos, the Executive Director of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), will take on a major global role in March 2026. He has been appointed as Chairperson of the International Social Security Association’s Technical Commission on Contribution Collection and Compliance for the 2026–2028 term.
The announcement was made following the ISSA Bureau’s 132nd meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 3, 2025. His nomination by ISSA President Dr. Mohammed Azman bin Aziz Mohammed received unanimous approval; a clear signal of trust in his leadership and professional track record.
As Chairperson, Mr. vonBallmoos will lead the Commission’s work to strengthen global systems that ensure fair and effective contribution collection. His leadership will help shape policies that support the financial stability of social protection programs in countries around the world.
The ISSA General Secretariat is currently finalizing the list of Vice-Chairpersons and Members with a focus on diversity, regional inclusion, and gender balance. The full team is expected to be named by the end of January 2026.
His official work will begin during the 20th ISSA Forum for Technical Commissions, which will take place virtually between February and March 2026. This forum will set the tone for the Commission’s priorities and strategies for the years ahead. Mr. Raul Ruggia-Frick, Director of the Social Security Development Branch, will work closely with him to finalize the Commission’s structure and work plan.
For Liberia, this appointment is more than a personal achievement; it is a proud national moment. It highlights NASSCORP’s steady growth and the country’s rising profile in the global social security space. Mr. vonBallmoos’ leadership comes at a time when strong and accountable social protection systems are needed more than ever.
The ISSA remains the world’s leading organization for social security institutions, promoting innovation, good governance, and global cooperation.
